Let's make something
that makes a difference
About me
Software Developer | Electrical Engineering Technologist | Tech Enthusiast
Ever since I was a kid I've always thought technology and the things it can do for us was so amazing. Even now there are trillions of electrons coursing through whatever device you are reading this on, smashing into each other in unbridled chaos that we orchestrate into a careful harmony so we can watch cat videos and chat with our friends... neat!
It was that sense of amazement that led me to a career as an Electrical Engineering Technologist. I spent many years working in different roles and constantly learning new skills to sate my curiosity. Whether I was fabricating and repairing industrial controls and machinery or designing and prototyping new products, it was always my desire to learn that pushed me to challenge myself and left me hungry for more.
That sense of amazement is still with me today and continues to drive me as I learn Software Development. In an industry where no two days are the same, a desire to always be learning and having the right attitude to consistently improve are invaluable tools. Changing career paths has been a whole new challenge, albeit a welcomed one, that has left me optimistic about my future as a full-stack software developer where I will have the chance to learn and apply myself to make a difference every day!
Projects
React shopAPPrentice
Tech Stack: React.js, redux, CSS3, Node.js, MySQL
After completing the first version of this app, I decided to rewrite it into React-redux as a learning experience and to improve the functionality of the app immensely! Although the front-end components are mostly complete, this full-stack project is still a work in progress
Practice Projects
Tech Stack: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React.js, redux, Node.js
This is a Github repo filled with several small projects I built while I was learning to code various languages and frameworks. They are mostly simple applications with basic styling but I put my twist on them where I could and learned a lot in the process!
shopAPPrentice
Tech Stack: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
After using the "measure twice, cut once" ideology and coming up short one too many times I realized the problem may not be the tape measure! I built this app to take some of the guess work out of converting from metric to imperial when I'm working in my shop!
EET Student Resources Website
Tech Stack: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
A website I am building in cooperation with one of my past college professors from the Electrical Engineering Technology program at the College of the North Atlantic. This website is still in the very early stages but it is meant to be a homepage for students to access curated lessons, content and applications to help them succeed in their studies
